JackRabbit Systems banned from Reservation Nexus (ResNexus) websites

September 2, 2008 -- JackRabbit Systems has been banned from Reservation Nexus (ResNexus) websites due to prohibited scrapping of our websites for commercial gain. JackRabbit Systems is trying to provide hospitality availability like GDS but at more "affordable rates" and on a much smaller scale. What they are not telling businesses is how they are getting their availability. Reservation Nexus (ResNexus) found that JackRabbit Systems was "scrapping" Reservation Nexus (ResNexus) websites manually for our client's availability, without permission from Reservation Nexus (ResNexus) and in almost all of the cases without the business owner's permission as well.

As per our Terms of Use on our websites, scrapping information from any of our websites for commercial gain without our permission is prohibited and can result in legal action. We have banned the Amazon.com server cloud they use (IP Address 75.101.213.138) from talking to our websites. We are also very unimpressed with Amazon.com's lack of policing server cloud abuse by its users with regards to prohibited and illegal activities, even once informed about prohibited activities.

Since being shut off, JackRabbit Systems has approached Reservation Nexus (ResNexus) and now after-the-fact wants to partner with us through normal means. In no way do we want to partner with any company that actively participates in illegal and prohibited activities and is so casual about getting proper permission before interacting and possibly negatively affecting another's business.

For those businesses that have been approached by or may be trying JackRabbit Systems, Reservation Nexus (ResNexus) will not be participating in their system until JackRabbit Systems has permission from every service they are presently scrapping. JackRabbit Systems will also need to have a change in internal policy with regards to getting permission from both the reservation system and the mutual client.
