Campspot doesn’t have direct website services but they do recommend trusted partners that can provide website creation services. In addition, Campspot adds your property as a page on their online directory alongside other properties.

ResNexus helps your campground get found and get booked by integrating directly with OTAs such as Booking.com, Airbnb, TripAdvisor and Expedia, as well as Spot2Nite, The Dyrt, Glamping Hub, HipCamp, and BookOutdoors, which are campground-specific marketing channels that accept tent and RV sites. In addition, ResNexus has a unique direct connection to VRBO that does not use ical. This helps prevent double bookings from having to manually enter in reservations from VRBO. ResNexus has commission-free pricing options to connect to the OTA's. This means that your business has zero additional commission fees charged by your PMS software.

Campspot integrates with Booking.com through DerbySoft, and with Airbnb and Vrbo through BnBerry, which are 3rd party integration companies. This means you may have to work with different support teams from different companies to resolve any issues that might arise. In addition, each company charges its own fees for their services. Campspot charges a $3 per booking fee for reservations that come through the OTAs.

ResNexus achieved Preferred Partner status with both Expedia and Airbnb for building and maintaining a quality integration with these world-class marketing channels. This means ResNexus offers powerful features and capabilities built into the pms system from these providers.

Campspot integrates with Airbnb but not with Expedia. Campspot has not achieved Preferred Parter status with either.

During the booking process you can offer retail items, specials or packages in an intuitive and eye-catching way. In addition, your policies stand out because ResNexus uses a simple step-by-step progression throughout the reservation process. ResNexus allows you to call out or highlight the most important policies for your campers to know.

With Campspot, your guest has to click to view your policies, terms and conditions. By hiding your policies at the end of the booking process, potential guests might overlook or ignore your terms and conditions completely. Down the road this could lead to campers leaving your business a bad review if policy misunderstandings occur. Campspot requires your guest to click and agree to your policies whether they have read them or not.

The ResNexus booking engine is easy to use and customizable. In addition, the ResNexus Team makes sure that your online booking engine matches your current website, whether it is provided by ResNexus or not. That means when potential guests go to reserve a site, they don’t feel like they are being sent to a different-looking website. Campspot allows limited customization of their booking engine to look like your website. You can change colors and add your property’s logo. However, if you choose to be listed on Campspot's marketing channel, that is what is branded instead of your property. The Campspot directory shows your competitors and collects the guest information so that the Campspot OTA directory can market to your guest in the future. Often, this means they are advertising new locations for the guest to stay at.

With ResNexus Travel Protection, you can protect your business from revenue losses from last-minute cancellations due to illness, adverse weather involving rain/snow and other travel delays including cancelled flights or vehicle breakdown. In addition, ResNexus offers Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) 75% refund protection. Your guests can simply select the Travel Protection option during the booking process, and if they cancel for one of the protected reasons, both you and your guest will be reimbursed 100% of the booking cost minus the travel protection fee. ResNexus does not offer extreme heat protection at this time.

The Sensible Weather Guarantee covers rain and high temperature. It does not cover hail, snow, or any other weather events. It is specifically based on the amount of rain precipitation that falls during a given time period. If a guest has to cancel last-minute due to illness or other travel delay, your property must fall back on your own cancellation policies, which could result in a loss of revenue depending on the strictness of your terms and conditions.

With ResNexus, potential guests can see your top retail offers and specials right from the start. All your retail items are shown once the guest selects a site—something many of our competitors copied from us. In addition, your guest can choose to shop by special first and the ResNexus Online Booking Engine will guide the guest to select the qualifying dates and units.

Campspot also shows add-ons or retail items after the unit is selected. Unlike ResNexus, Campspot does not allow the guest to shop by special or package first and then select the unit.

The ResNexus Guest Portal allows guests to check in, check out, message your staff, view reservation details, and more! The best part is there’s no app required. All the guest has to do is click the link or scan the QR code, then input their reservation and phone number!

Campspot has a guest mobile app called Campspot | RV Camping which has some impressive functions, but it does require the guest to download the app in order to use them. In addition, the guest information is uploaded into the Campspot OTA Marketplace.

Unlike ResNexus, the Campspot Booking Engine and OTA does not allow you to ban a guest from making a direct online reservation. In Campspot, when you disallow or ban a guest you are notified in the Campspot back office if a guest makes a direct online booking. Then you or your staff will need to manually cancel that banned guest booking.

In the event the guest cannot make their reservation due to a wide variety of reasons including illness, adverse weather, and other travel delays, they can apply for a 100% booking reimbursement any time up to 14 days before the departure date or up to 30 days after. The automated Travel Protection refund portal looks like your online booking engine and helps reduce the headache of managing the administration of refund processing. In addition, much of the refund or reimbursement process is automatically handled by ResNexus on your behalf. This reduces back-and-forth phone calls or emails with the guest during the cancellation process. The automated Travel Protection portal also lets the guest reschedule and change dates if necessary.

Campspot does integrate with Sensible Weather Guarantee service to protect your guest from rainy days based on the amount of rain precipitation that falls during a given time period. The Weather Guarantee is separate from the Campspot reservation and is owned by Sensible Weather. The guest will need to contact Sensible Weather directly to make changes to their coverage dates if they change the dates of their Campspot reservation. If a guest cancels their reservation in advance they will also need to contact Sensible Weather directly to request a refund for the purchased Weather Guarantee. Sensible Weather notifies guests of a Weather Guarantee payout automatically through text and email each morning of their trip with instructions on how to get reimbursed.

Not only does ResNexus have the best-looking Welcome and Thank You emails, we take your business further with Birthday, Anniversary, and Holiday emails and Newsletters. ResNexus email marketing automatically targets your previous guests and increases your return guest rate. Marketing emails are included at no additional cost for the Professional and Premier editions of ResNexus.

Campspot is a PMS system, but it is also an OTA. While they do offer welcome and thank you emails, your property should keep in mind that guests who book through Campspot.com will be added to their email funnel and encouraged to book another reservation through Campspot–which shows your park next to your competitors. Campspot does integrate with Mailchimp for an additional cost.

ResNexus also provides unit optimization. That means you can enable your software to automatically shuffle your bookings to make room for more campers.

Campspot does have a history of innovating in the campground industry. For example, they introduced grid optimization on their software, which helps organize bookings automatically to make room for more campers and maximize occupancy.

ResNexus launched a mobile app (both iOS and Android) for property managers to help you manage your business on the go. This allows you to perform many of the most important operations you need in the palm of your hand.

Campspot does not have a property management app. They do have a mobile app for their OTA marketplace for campers to make bookings. Bookings made through the Campspot marketplace have a 12.5% commission fee.

In addition to over one hundred powerful reports, ResNexus innovated the bed and breakfast industry with Night Audit functionality. This end-of-day sequence allows you to easily monitor and verify actions taken at your property for each day and generate specific reports to give you an accurate view of your business' performance and balance all transactions. What makes the ResNexus Night Audit so unique is it's ability provide a pdf report with hyperlinks to any transaction in the system. This makes coordination and auditing with your accounting staff or service easy and fast.
