Recently, all major phone service providers formed a new regulated registry called "The Campaign Registry" with one goal in mind: improve the public's view of texting as a secure means of communication. To do this, The Campaign Registry set up a vetting process to ensure business-to-customer communications are for valid purposes and will not be used to scam individuals.
This process involves submitting brand registration information such as legal business name, registered business address, website, and EIN to the service provider to validate your business. Once that trust has been established, you are able to submit campaign registration information. This campaign is reviewed by The Campaign Registry.
This review process is checking for your selected use case and sample message, as well as again validating your website and any information you will provide about your business via text. This process also includes verifying that your guests have the opportunity to opt out of texts at any time.
Starting August 31, 2023, text messages will not be delivered to your recipients until the campaign registration has been approved. Because the campaign registrations are manually reviewed, the approval process can take several weeks.
For your own text messaging subscription, ResNexus recommends beginning the registration process as soon as possible to minimize delays in SMS communications with your guests.
