March 1, 2026: The ice is over a foot thick in most places around the lake. Some really nice walleyes up to 27 inches have been caught and some nice northerns over 30 inches have been speared (see our fishing pictures under our EVENTS page). We have our rental ice fishing House and Darkhouse out. We also have some bait and fishing equipment so come on out and try some ice fishing or spearing. The fishing has been good this year right through the fall with nice bass, crappie, bluegills and walleye being caught (see photos from spring & summer 2025 fishing on our recreation page and also on our events page). Three fishermen around the 4th of July caught 22 crappies, the smallest being 10” in 1 ½ hour of fishing during the evening bite. One young fisherwoman caught with her pink fishing pole a northern the week of the 4th over 39 inches long and weighing 12 lbs. Lots of walleyes and crappie (14 inches) were caught this spring! Our guests said the crappie they caught this spring were the biggest they had caught in years!

Becker County has over 250 miles of groomed trails. The Becker County trails connect to hundreds of other trails in the area. Ride to Detroit Lakes, the Shooting Star Casino, Park Rapids, the Headwaters of the Mississippi River in Itasca State Park and beyond. Of course, when riding on lakes one always wants to be careful of ice conditions as ice thickness can vary greatly.
We have cozy cabins, premium gas, a sauna in the recreation center and some hot food, snacks and beverage in the lodge. After a day on the trails relax in the sauna, play some pool in our recreation center while watching some big games on TV and/or enjoy some hot food and beverages in the lodge while enjoying the scenic overview of the lake. We have premium gas for your snowmobiles. Try some ice fishing as we have good ice fishing and have winter fishing equipment rentals. We have a variety of activities for the whole family with snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sliding hill, etc.
