The Claremont Shack was saved from a farmer's ho in Claremont, MS (just a few miles south). It has a mini fridge, microwave, coffee, wifi, and a private bathroom with a walk in shower. The Pinetop Shack is named in honor of Pinetop Perkins, the boogie-woogie piano man who worked as a tractor mechanic here at Hopson Plantation back in the 40s. (He also taught Ike Turner how to play the piano around here.) The Robert Clay Shack, brought in from Birdie, MS (just north of us), is where Mr. Clay raised his seven sons and made moonshine (look above the shower in the bathroom for the coil from the still!). Tinth shack is the 10th shack on the compound and wrapped in old rusted tin on the outside and old cypress on the inside. This is our "shack of the future" because it is built with styrofoam sip panels with 4 inches of styrofoam in the walls and 6 inches in the floor and ceiling. Have no fear folks, it's still as funky as the old shacks. Tinth includes porch, queen bed, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee. Private bathroom with shower. Window a/c unit and electric heaters.
