Mr. Dunning was a science and mathematics teacher, he also served as principal in this office for over ten years and later became the superintendent of Schools. He was admired by the Alumni of this school.

The Governor Carr is our best suite, 900 square feet of pure luxury, hydro spa, wet bar, micro wave, extra large bathroom with walkin shower, Louis IVX Poster Bed. 48” large screen TV with DVD and satellite, fireplace, and breath- taking views. While all of our rooms are exquisite, this one is clearly the finest. Stayed in this room before, let us know as we will honor last years rate for Alumni.

Gov. Carr graduated from this school in 1905. He served as Colorado governor from 1939-1943. He was named Person of the Century by the Denver Post for his humanitarian efforts to protect American of Japanese descent during World War II.

Innkeeper Winifred Ledford's great grandfather, Winfield Scott Boynton, was sheriff of El Paso County (before Teller County was formed) between 1894 to 1897 when Labor Wars pitted miners against mine owners. He and his brother Frank and their families were builders and merchants in Cripple Creek from around 1890 to 1915
