  • Alpine Air Glacier Dog Sledding

    Alpine Air offers a wonderful summer-time glacier dog sledding trip, in combination with a scenic flight to and from Punch Bowl Glacier. Trips for 2 to 6 people, so each trip is basically a private tour. Start from the Girdwood airport, and get suited you up for the snowy glacier. Hop in a helicopter for a 10 minute scenic flight (keep an eye out for wildlife) up through Girdwood’s mountainous valley. Once on the glacier, you will meet your guide and his enthusiastic Alaskan Huskies. You will learn all about the Alaskan Huskies,driving a dog team, a musher’s lifestyle, and the famous Iditarod trail. Learn to drive the sled yourself, or settle back in the sled and just enjoy the ride. Photo opportunities abound in the pristine mountains of the Chugach Mountain Range. Protective outerwear (jackets, pants, and outer boots) provided, but dress warmly. This is a trip you NEVER forget, and most visitors say it was the highlight of their Alaskan vacation!!

  • Sea Kayaking on Prince William Sound
    Slow down and view the amazing sights of Prince William Sound up close and personal on this guided sea kayaking trip. Enjoy waterfalls, hidden coves, glacial views and a short bit of hiking on this trip. Visit the busy rookery for the Black Legged Kittiwake sea bird, located 2 miles across the fjord from Whittier. Instruction in the harbor and a lunch will be provided. This paddle will cover six to eight miles in five or six hours. Departs at 10:00 a.m.

  • Spencer Iceberg Viewing with Ascending Path
    Take the Alaska Railroad to the Spencer Whistlestop for a full day of non-stop adventure and fun. Enjoy this 2 mile hike along a well maintained USFS trail to the face of Spencer Glacier. Naturalist guides lead the group of 9 or less along the lake edge stopping to pick up Icebergs and take photos at several of Glacier viewing areas. The 3 hours spent hiking includes a chance to learn about interesting local wildlife, history and glaciology. Cost includes deli boxedlunch and rail.
