Brick House B & B owner Bill Murphey has used ResNexus' software since 2016. This is his story about why he uses ResNexus.
Before Murphy got involved with his bed and breakfast, he worked in Washington, D.C in the medical business. He thought retiring would be great, but he found himself feeling bored. He has two children and four grandchildren in the area of Oak Ridge, Pennsylvania, so he decided to move there to be closer to them.
When he moved back to Pennsylvania, he found an inn that was built in 1840. He fell in love with the Gothic mansion, so he said, "What the heck, we'll give it a shot."
When Murphy took over the bed and breakfast, he bought the business and its advertising as well. The previous owners were already using ResNexus. He tried learning the ResNexus software on his own, which was easy, but he'd get himself into "jams." When he tried making appointments or setting up the taxes, if he was stuck, he would call ResNexus. The ResNexus support team would spend as much time as he needed to help him figure out his problem.
For example, he didn't have a place for customers to enter in their credit cards. So he called ResNexus, and the support team did almost everything to set credit card transactions up. He was pleased with that, so he said, "I'm never going to leave now." ResNexus was always there. ResNexus also helped Murphy set up gift certificates and other similar items.
To Murphy, ResNexus is more than just a reservation system; it can be the "whole works."
Murphy has a couple of friends who are interested in getting a bed and breakfast now. Every time he talks with them about that, he mentions everything that ResNexus can do.
