While there are hundreds of lodging directories on the Internet, there are only a handful of useful and effective lodging directories. While lodging directories popup all the time (starting from scratch with no inns to showcase), it's been too long since a legitimate directory has come along to keep the current ones in check and to reshape the lodging directory market.

• Inns are listed by what we call our Red Carpet Index (RCI), not by how much they pay Destination Nexus. You are in control (much like Search Engine Optimization) of improving your ranking within Destination Nexus by improving the quality of your website, inn and room photos as well as making sure guests rate you on travel review sites and that you allow guests to book online from your website.
• We do want to highlight those who excel in their region. If your Red Carpet Index is high enough, you will be extended the opportunity to be showcased regionally and nationally. The fee decreases the higher you elevate your Red Carpet Index.
