December 10th, 2025: The lakes are freezing over, and ice fishing is right around the corner. The fishing has been good this year right through the fall with nice bass, crappie, bluegills and walleye being caught (see photos from spring & summer 2025 fishing on our recreation page and also on our events page). Three fishermen around the 4th of July caught 22 crappies, the smallest being 10” in 1 ½ hour of fishing during the evening bite. One young fisherwoman caught with her pink fishing pole a northern the week of the 4th over 39 inches long and weighing 12 lbs. Lots of big crappie (14 inches) are being caught! Our guests said the crappie they caught this spring were the biggest they had caught in years!

🌈TRAIL REPORT: DEC 12, 2025🌈 CONDITIONS: All trails double roll packed in last 4 Days; South Trail and 3k Classic are now Tidd Tec combed and Track Set; average base 3”; Base firming up good; North trail is roll packed for skate skiing; Track set clean and deep; currently -5*F; and clear skies. Bring you’re A skies! COMMENTS: Got going late this morning at 5*F above, cloudy skies, NW wind, snow showers in the air and finished at -5*F, clear skies, and wind diminishing. Setting tracks and combing went very well for a first-time groom for the season. Very clean and deep track set and with the cold temps I am positive the Base will be set hard. 🎈We are offering FREE trail passes this fall and winter. Please register at the lodge.

🎈DEC 15, 2025🎈 With the recent snow, we have about 4" to 12" of snow depth in our area (see NOAA snow depth map in the posting below along with a second map showing our location). There were a number of riders out over the weekend. The reports were that the trails were in good shape. Most of the local clubs have started grooming trails in the area. The snowmobile season is on! Of course, when riding on lakes one always wants to be careful of ice conditions as ice thickness can vary greatly. Becker County has over 250 miles of groomed trails. The Becker County trails connect to hundreds of other trails in the area. Ride to Detroit Lakes, the Shooting Star Casino, Park Rapids, the Headwaters of the Mississippi River in Itasca State Park and beyond. 🎈We have premium gas for your snowmobiles. After a day on the trails relax in the sauna, play some pool in our recreation center while watching some big games on TV and/or enjoy some hot food and beverages in the lodge while enjoying the scenic overview of the lake. Book lodging early as we have reduced rates when occupancy is low. Midweek rates this FALL (Oct 5th to Dec 11th) and WINTER/SPRING (Jan 5th to May 6th) are less than 1/2 Weekend Standard Rates! While we normally require a two-night minimum stay in our lodging, please call for possible one-night stays.
